Red Mountain Resort Celebrates its 20th Anniversary
Press Release
AUGUST 21, 2018
Red Mountain Resort is excited to celebrate its 20th anniversary this August and its ongoing commitment to offering guests a transformative experience of self-discovery. Since its creation in 1998, Red Mountain Resort has continued to evolve and remain a leader in the field of wellness travel.
Ideally located in St. George, Utah, Red Mountain Resort seamlessly combines the beautiful desert landscape with customized adventure and wellness programming. To kick off its anniversary, the resort will be unveiling its newly-constructed Guest Services Pavilion and hosting a grand opening reception featuring a drum circle September 1 during Labor Day Weekend for guests and team members to celebrate the two incredible milestones.
“Red Mountain Resort has evolved so much,” shared Tracey Welsh, Red Mountain Resort’s General Manager. “Since we first opened we have been committed to always embracing new wellness trends, and through this, Red Mountain Resort has remained a leader in the wellness field.”
See below for how Red Mountain Resort has celebrated wellness for the past 20 years.
Hitting the Trails
Guests of Red Mountain Resort have hiked over one million miles in the past 20 years through Snow Canyon alone. Under the guidance of the resort’s local guides, guests can explore the hidden gems of red rock country, including symbolic rock structures, hidden caves and even locations where blockbuster movies were filmed – think Indiana Jones!
What’s New: In addition to hiking trips through Bryce Canyon, Snow Canyon and the famed Zion National Park, the resort recently unveiled a new hiking program in honor of its 20th anniversary: The Alpine Adventure. Taking guests around the Alpine lake and through the lush, timber-covered mountain peaks of Pine Valley, this guided excursion offers two levels of difficulty for guests to choose from: Explorer (entry-level) and Challenge (advanced).
Sagestone Spa and Salon
Since its debut in 2006, the award-winning Sagestone Spa and Salon has continued to add to its lineup of over 50 different spa treatments. Sagestone’s professional staff is committed to ongoing training in new and unique techniques to stay on the cutting-edge of massage and spa therapy. Combining ancient health and beauty rituals with custom-blend indigenous desert botanicals, local honey and mineral-rich muds, clays and salts, Sagestone Spa and Salon creates tangible, restorative effects.
What’s New: This September, the resort will be unveiling a new holistic sleep treatment called the Sleep Tonic Massage. Created to alleviate insomnia and calm an anxious mind, this full body massage uses techniques that focus on areas of the body where stress pools, including the hands, feet, head and abdomen. A special probiotic and flower essence infused massage oil are used to nourish the skin and calm the nervous system. Crystals are also utilized to enhance this deeply relaxing treatment and are gifted to guests to take home, so they may create their own nighttime ritual.
Fitness & Wellness
For the past 20 years, Red Mountain Resort has curated a diverse and unique lineup of wellness, personal discovery and fitness programming. Guests can enjoy a balanced approach to their overall wellbeing through the combination of the resort’s fitness classes and mental wellness workshops. Whether choosing to participate in yoga, cardio classes, water aerobics, chakra balancing, meditation or any of the resort’s shamanic offerings, guests can experience the resort’s proven track record of achieving wellness through their thoughtful selection of offerings.
What’s New: For guests looking for a more comprehensive approach to their health, the Executive Health & Wellness Retreat, which will be made available this September, combines the medical expertise of Intermountain Healthcare’s LiVe Well Center with the benefits of Red Mountain Resort’s all-inclusive Essential Retreat. The five-day, four-night package includes a six-hour comprehensive health evaluation – including genomic testing – with the healthcare professionals at Intermountain Healthcare LiVe Well Center. Upon returning to the resort, guests will then have access to all the benefits of the Essential Retreat so that they can put their new health plan into practice.
